While there are numerous aspects that we could highlight each month, we will try to keep these reports to the most important things. Also note, a lot of the work that the API3 Marketing team is doing is in preparation for future announcements. Many of our activities cannot be made public until after we have made these announcements.

The API3 Alliance

We consider this announcement our biggest to date and a lot of effort went into its preparation. We coordinated with over 125 API Alliance members. We arranged marketing agreements, received and prepared logos, wrote blog posts, and provided members with API3 Alliance material for their own announcements. In addition, we hosted webinars to inform partners about the launch of the alliance, its importance, as well as what they can expect from API3 in the future.

In addition to preparing alliance members and amplifying the reach of our announcement, we thought about ways to capture new value — after all potential members for the Alliance might stumble upon this announcement and wonder what it means. The API3 Alliance page on our website was built for this reason and gives interested parties the chance to learn about what the API3 Alliance is, who its members are, and how they can join. We’re happy to report that new potential partners have already approached us which demonstrates that we are able to attract new providers through our web presence, in addition to the existing business development efforts. The number of partners is not static as our efforts are ongoing (e.g. through LinkedIn campaigns) in order to further grow the API3 Alliance. You can expect regular updates announcing new members.

We are constantly working on many fronts to drive API3 forward. From community engagement, to API provider marketing, to dApps, platforms, and enterprise. Among those things are:

  • Making news available in multiple languages, currently focusing on Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, and German. We intend to develop the Spanish-speaking community next.
  • Pushing API3 onto different platforms like Messari, FTX (Blockfolio), Zerion and others to allow our community to access important news and information on their favored platforms.
  • Building out and maintaining newsletters to different audiences — We recently began pushing news to all our newsletter subscribers and are planning on building out content for targeted audiences like API Providers and Developers to keep them updated on the most relevant information.
  • Expansion of the API3 Forum — The forum is actively being expanded on. Community efforts are being planned which will have their own dedicated section. Our API Alliance members are also on this platform and have a private section where we supply them with news, posts, and graphical material to highlight their involvement with API3.
  • Creation of the help@api3.org address — In recent weeks we have been getting an increasing number of requests for support to contact@api3.org. This email is mainly used for business development (interested dApps/Platforms/etc), which is why it was necessary to separate the support requests onto a different email. While we are always ready to help on Telegram, the Forum and Discord, we understand that some people prefer to send an email. Help@api3.org is now officially managed by our community managers, so if there are any issues, feel free to shoot us an email.
  • Expanding Community engagement — The API3 Discord got a complete overhaul and is (together with our Forum) more actively used by grant receiving teams. Some of the early stages of this are already beginning to be rolled out in the Contribute section as well as having calls open to the public where everybody can hop in and chat with us. There are more engagement efforts being worked on, which will be announced as soon as they are ready.
  • Increased video production efforts — Some videos are already released with our Authoritative DAO Tutorial series (by the Core Dev team) and the recent introduction to API3. More work is currently being done to highlight API3 Alliance members and provide additional educational material.
  • Event organization — API3 presence at events like API Days and the Global NFT Summit as well as sponsoring and attending the Ethereum Community Conference in Paris brought API3 incredible value. We were able to talk with a lot of potential providers, dApp developers and platforms and made them aware of API3. Because of this, multiple blockchain and API-centric conferences are being considered and attendance is being prepared for this cycle. Among these are Mainnet 2021, LisCon, Money 20/20, API Days, and more.

A lot of work is being done behind the scenes and we are very excited about what we will present in the coming months! If you have any wishes, suggestions, or comments about API3 Marketing activities, please reach out to us on the API3 Discord and Forum!

Until next month,
The API3 Marketing Team
