September was a building month. After the API3 Alliance announcement in August it felt slow on the surface. Reality was, as you might have guessed, quite the opposite.

150+ API3 Alliance Members

The API3 Alliance continued to see new API providers committed to running Airnode first-party oracles. From large, established blockchain data providers to new, unique APIs that have never been available on blockchain before, the API3 Alliance is groundbreaking. We’re facilitating the creation of the Web3 API economy and it couldn’t be more exciting!

It won’t be long before you’ll start seeing APIs advertise their Web3 compatibility, powered by API3.

Web3 API Search

Now that the world’s largest association of Web3 API providers is coming online, we’re going to need a place to find them. API3 is an economy, not a product. While we anticipate numerous places where Web3 builders will be able to find and access Airnode first-party APIs, we have to start with one.

That’s why we’ve been preparing a Web3 API search feature on API3.org. It won’t be the most sophisticated or feature-packed listing of Airnodes but it’ll get the job done and it will be available soon.

Hablamos Español

Spanish is the third most spoken language in the world. And if you pay attention, you know there are some interesting crypto things happening in Latin America. Not having an active Spanish-speaking API3 community was a problem that we began to address in September.

With the addition of Andres to our community management team, API3 is actively engaging the Spanish-speaking community and embracing one of the most important blocs in blockchain.

Discord Overhaul

After the launch of the API3 authoritative DAO it became clear that to truly decentralize, we needed to walk the walk and start opening up operations to the DAO. As an important step in that direction, the API3 marketing team is making a concerted effort to have more day-to-day conversations on our public Discord instead of in private.

While we still can’t discuss confidential topics that are under NDA or would compromise our competitive advantage, we’re doing what we can out in the open for the DAO and community to see.

In addition to the increased openness, we also reorganized channels a bit and added some color. Thanks Auvi!

Community Participation Initiatives

In September we launched our first community contest. These have been a long time coming and we’re excited to finally get one off the ground! Participation has been solid and we believe these will only get better with time. If you’re looking for a way to contribute to API3, these community initiatives are an easy and fun way to join in. Thanks Marcus!

In The Media

We started to ramp up our public relations efforts in September. These things take time and but you should expect to start seeing media attention trickle in more and more. For example, this month we saw Heikki interviewed by Crowdfund Insider and Sasa on Crypto Coin Show.

In The Flesh

API3 had the opportunity to attend several in-person conferences in September. Most notably, we were present at Messari Mainnet in New York and Money20/20 in Amsterdam.

Ashar & Mason, reporting for duty.

I want to thank the API3 Marketing team for a busy and fruitful September. While it might not be obvious just yet, many a seed were planted and I can’t wait to see them grow!

¡Adiós! — Ryan, API3 Marketing
